Memories of Paul Daniell

In the late 70s I was part of a group (HAPS) that retrieved a Spitfire tail assembly from Kenley…

..dragged it to the back of my parent’s house at 42 Hilltop Road. The park rangers got fed up with it ( as my Mum wouldn’t allow us to drag into the top of our garden) took it away. I also retrieved an aircraft seat from the dump over the same period and as identified by the RAF museum believed to have been from a Hornet/Vampire. I donated to the de Havilland Mosquito museum, Herts, UK in the mid 90s before I left for NZ.

The various blast pens etc were my playground as a child!
