- Pen 5 is the most easterly of the pens on the northern side of the airfield and faces south.
- Today, this pen has been infilled with earth and rubble.
- The pen is of the larger type found at Kenley, the original two bays would have been approximately 18.5m x 23.5m each.
- The front doorways are covered by the infill with just the tops visible. A large steel door secures the rear doorway.
- The front doorways have two-element lintels. The rear doorway has a three-element lintel
- The rear retaining wall is of brick construction.
- There is a rectangular construction on top of the pen in the rear right corner which formerly housed an anti-aircraft machine gun.
- The interior shelter construction is unknown.
- The front wall of the now missing centre section had a buttress added for strength.
