  • Pen 9 is the most northerly of the pens on the western side of the airfield and faces south east. It is located on the other side of Hayes Lane and is now on private land.
  • Today, the pen appears to be complete apart from the front brick walls of each arm.
  • The pen is of the smaller type found at Kenley, the original two bays would have been approximately 16.5m x 16.5m each.
  • The construction method and current state of the three doorways are unknown.
  • The rear retaining wall is of unknown construction.
  • The interior shelter is of unknown construction.
  • The centre arm end wall had a buttress fitted for additional strength.
