On 16th August 1941, the Kenley Wing had a very busy day, flying three separate offensive operations. It wasn't without cost though, as No.602 squadron lost Sgt. Cyril Anderson Booty on his second sortie of the day.
Sergeant Edward Brayley was the son of Alfred (a motor engineer) and Sarah Brayley, of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. He had an older brother, Clifford and a younger sister Margaret.
Sergeant Pilot Ivor Morrison Brown of 602 squadron RAFVR, was the son of Douglas Campbell Brown and Frances Jane Brown, of Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.
Leonard was born at Alma, on Prince Edward Island, Canada, in 1918. He joined the RCAF in August 1940, and was posted overseas to England in May 1941.
On the afternoon of 25th April, 1942, Squadron Leader "Hawkeye" Wells led the Kenley Wing on Circus 137. Group Captain Corner was shot down and baled out too low over the Channel. Having no known grave, he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial.
Sgt. Green was shot down by a FW190 during Circus 137, on the 25th April, 1942.

Derek Vincent Osborne was born in Lancashire, on 9 December 1915, to Samuel and Mary Christina Osborne. In 1939 he was recorded as a Manufacturers’ Agent for woollen goods and a member of the RAF Volunteer Reserve.
On 28th March, 1942, Warrant Officer Rudolf Ptacek of 602 Squadron, RAF Kenley, was reported missing after a "Rodeo" fighter sweep. It was assumed that he had been shot down in the Calais area during a huge dogfight with a large number of FW190's.
Thomas Glyn Finlayson Ritchie was born on 30th November, 1913, in Milngavie, Dunbartonshire. He was the son of Thomas McGown Ritchie and Jane Finlayson.
SERGEANT PILOT CHARLES JAMES SQUIBB of 602 squadron RAFVR, was the son of John William J. and Sarah Squibb; husband of Iris Maude Squibb, of Bedfont, Middlesex.
ALFRED ROBERTS TIDMAN was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, in 1918, the son of Arthur Roberts Tidman and Christian Laing Tidman.
