RAF Kenley was home to 8 RCAF Fighter Squadrons during WW2 and Canadians make up roughly one third of the Kenley pilots who lost their lives in that epic struggle to preserve our freedom.

The RCAF memorial maple tree has been kindly donated by the family of Wing Commander Hugh C. Godefroy  DSO, DFC & Bar, Croix de Guerre with Gold Star, who was Kenley’s Wing Leader during the second half of 1943.
