RAF Kenley - Archaeology Open Day and Guided Tour
July 20, 2019 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Alongside this year’s community archaeology dig, we will be running a FREE open day and tour, so come and see our excavations and our finds!
We will be joined by Historic England’s Inspector of Ancient Monuments, Dr Jane Sidell, who will be able to tell you more about the importance of archaeology and military architecture at Kenley.
We will be running tours at 10:30am and 1pm. Both tours will run for around 45 minutes from Bunker Bank (close to the Officers’ Mess) to the north end of the airfield (just past the end of the long runway). On the 10:30am tour ONLY, you will have the option to continue round the airfield on a guided tour, this option will not be available on the 1pm tour. The extended tour will take around 2 hours to complete.
**Please note, the 10:30am tour is now sold out, however there are still places on the 1pm tour**
The open day is free to attend. Places on the tours are FREE but limited, so please book a ticket using the link below.
