Nathaniel John Merriman Barry was born on 18th June 1918, at Pilgrim's Rest, Eastern Transvaal, South Africa. He was one of seven children born to Richard Alan Barry, a mining engineer, and Gladys Isobel Barry (nee Van Der Byl).
Pilot Officer Albert Emmanuel Alex van den Hove d’Ertsenrijck, was seen by an eyewitness, Don Key, to try and make a forced landing in a meadow adjacent to the River Stour but the pilot jumped at very low level (possibly hoping to fall into the water), struck a tree and was killed.
Frederick Cecil Harrold was born on 17th May 1917, the son of Frederick Charles Harrold and Florence Nightingale Harrold (nee Booth).
Vilém was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia, in April 1915. At school he was an accomplished pianist and athlete. Upon graduating in June 1934, he volunteered for military service, and commenced his basic training with 2 Air Regiment, Olomouc.

Edward was from East Dulwich and learnt to fly at the London Transport Flying Club, joining the RAFVR in early 1939. He was shot down on 7th September 1940.

Leonard John Patterson was the son of John and Nina Patterson of Freeland, Oxfordshire. He was shot down by Me.109's east of Hastings on 28th November, 1940.
Mieczyslaw Stanislaw Marcinkowski was born on 24th February 1919 in Rytwiany in the Staszow district of Poland.
