403 squadron RCAF

No.403 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force were stationed at RAF Kenley, flying Spitfires, from 23rd January 1943 until 7th August 1943. They spent the Summer learning how to operate from a temporary airfield and live under canvas at Lashenden and Headcorn and then returned to Kenley for the Winter on 14th October 1943, where they remained until 24th February 1944. A couple of weeks at Hutton Cranswick followed. The squadron's final period at Kenley lasted from 29th February 1944 until 18th April 1944.
