Sergeant Stanley Fenemore, R.A.F Squadron 501 was pilot of Hawker Hurricane Mk I V6722 SD-V and was shot down on 15th October 1940 at Posterngate Farm, Godstone, Tandridge, Surrey. Sergeant Fenemore died at the scene. Part of the plane was once in Tangmere Military Aviation Museum. Fenemore Road, part of the new-build estate on the site of the old married quarters at Kenley, is named in his honour.
