George Henry Malivoire died in Redhill Hospital as a result of wounds sustained during the bombing raids on RAF Kenley on 18th August, 1940, the Battle of Britain’s “Hardest Day”.
George was born in 1913 in Lambeth, London. He was the third son of William Valentine Malivoire and Ellen Malivoire (nee Douthwaite) who had married in 1901 in Paddington, London. William was a comedian – part of a successful variety double act called “Collinson and Dean,” later “Collinson and Breen.”
George married Aileen M. Holmes in 1936. She lived at 19 Overton Rd, Brixton.
