On the 80th anniversary of ‘The Hardest Day,’ The Royal Air Force Association, Kenley and Caterham branch, together with members of the local community, and staff from The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, gathered at St. Luke’s churchyard, Whyteleafe, to remember the 10 RAF personnel killed as a result of enemy action at RAF Kenley on 18th August, 1940.

Reverend Annie Turk read out the names of the fallen, a wreath was laid and we reflected in silence on the sacrifices made to preserve our freedom 80 years ago.

Thank you to everybody who attended and all at St. Luke’s who made this very special event possible.
