Contractors have installed the new heritage signs at Kenley airfield, just in time for the 80th anniversary of ‘The Hardest Day’ of the Battle of Britain.

Eventually, the old sign boards will be removed and the new signs will be finished off with a resin-bonded ‘surround.’ Visitor information will be provided by large Spitfire Wing signs at the entrances to the Common, while smaller Hurricane Wing signs point out the historic features. Thirteen ‘table-top’ information panels tell the stories of the men and women that served at Kenley and how the station functioned.
