The Kenley Revival Project aim to protect and preserve the UK’s most intact WW2 fighter airfield. The partnership project with the Kenley Airfield Friends Group, City of London and Historic England is funded by the Heritage Lottery fund over a 3 year period.
The project has over 300 volunteers which help in many of our project themes from recording oral histories with WW2 veterans, events volunteers to delivering educational workshops and tours.
Our education volunteers have worked really hard all year to help develop and deliver our education resources and events for key stage 2 and 3 students, from workshops and tours to a week-long Learning Festival event with over 850 learners in attendance!
For their outstanding contribution they have been nominated by the Learning and Volunteer Manager for a Team London volunteer award for the ‘Culture in London’ category!
The annual Team London Awards ceremony celebrates the individuals, teams and corporate volunteers who are making outstanding contributions to their communities and helping to make London the best city it can be. The Awards ceremony will take place on 6 November 2017 at City Hall, where all shortlisted nominees will join Team London's celebrity ambassadors and VIP guests.
