This leaflet was issued by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health for Scotland in 1942 (possibly June).
The original recipient was Mr. L. Ridley, of Upper Selsdon Rd, Sanderstead.
The leaflet describes how to identify mustard gas and Lewisite and how to deal with their effects. If recommends carrying anti-gas ointment with your gas mask, removing contaminated clothing and washing in soap and warm water immediately, emphasising that:
THE COUNTRY CAN’T AFFORD TO HAVE MEN OR WOMEN OFF WORK EVEN FOR A SHORT TIME BECAUSE OF GAS BURNS.
