This leaflet was issued in February, 1939, by the Home Office. It gives instructions on how to position and put together an Anderson Shelter. An additional sheet gives directions on fitting bunks into the shelter.
The original recipient of this leaflet was Mr. L. Ridley, of Upper Selsdon Rd, Sanderstead. There is a note on the front cover from the Surveyor’s Dept., Coulsdon and Purley Urban District Council, saying that their shelter has been completed satisfactorily, except that it needs a ‘substantial barrier’ 2 feet from the entrance to the shelter and higher than the opening.
This document comes from the collection of Robin Grainger.
