Take learning out of the classroom and come and spend the day on Kenley airfield!
Guided Tours of the Airfield Entrance to the Airman's ShelterOur enthusiastic and qualified Tour Guide Volunteers deliver interactive tours of the airfield, which include games, dressing-up and lots of fun facts. You'll see all of Kenley's unique features, from the Rifle Range and Fuel Dump, to our recently restored Blast Pens. There's also the opportunity to go inside an old airman's shelter.
The tours are flexible in length and can be tailored to suit the interests and pre-existing knowledge of your group.
Educational WWII Workshops
Our workshops are a chance for children to handle WWII artefacts and take part in object based-learning activities. There is much opportunity for discussion and group work. As with the tours, we can tailor the workshop to suit the needs and interests of your learners.
If you aren't able to come to the airfield, we can bring our workshop to you - still completely free!
Tours and workshops can be booked together, or as stand-alone activities. If you would like to book, contact our team: kenleyrevival@cityoflondon.gov.uk
Why not combine your visit with a trip to St. Luke's Church, Whyteleafe? St. Luke's has strong links with the RAF and Kenley, as it was the first church in England to be damaged in the Battle of Britain and there are a number of war graves in the cemetery there.War Grave at St. Luke'sWar Graves Sign at St. Luke's.
