Kenley's Home Front - Life During the War
March 10, 2018 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
To celebrate our Women at War season we are hosting an event in Croydon where you can learn all about the significant roles women in Kenley had to play in the Home Front, maintaining the mentality of ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ as well as ‘Make Do and Mend’.
Explore what life in Kenley would have been like and take part in rationing activities, gain ideas about recycling and use spare materials to make fun wartime toys.
There will also be activities with a modern twist, showing how behaviors of the time can help us now with recycling and environmentalism – do you think the attitudes of our wartime past can help us impact on the way we consider waste today?
Want to travel the world with your own plane?
